Hunting Information
The flat area approximately 60 km southeast of Budapest is rich in roe deer with a good genetic base. The vast fields bordered by windbreaks and occasional small forest complexes are home to quality bucks, as there is no other game in the vicinity that could negatively affect the roe deer population. Traditional Hungarian roe deer hunting does not need to be specifically introduced to any hunter; however, it is important to note that in this location, the traditional stalk hunting combined with car transfers is preferred. Hunting starts early in the morning and continues until the bucks are no longer active. It resumes in the afternoon until dusk. The area covers over 10,000 hectares, providing plenty of space to search for strong and quality individuals. Annually, 100 trophy roe deer are hunted in this area, of which 20% are medal-class individuals. Most of the time, roe deer are hunted at distances of 80 to 150 meters, but long-distance shooting is possible. Suitable calibers are all commonly used calibers in our conditions, from 243 WIN to 300 WIN MAG.
Travel Details
To travel, you need a valid ID card or passport, and if traveling with a weapon, a valid international firearm license.
Equipment and Gear
Clothing should be adapted to the season; however, shorts are not recommended even in the summer due to insects and tall grass. Essential gear includes insect repellent, head covering, long-sleeved clothing, rubber boots, and waterproof clothing. It is also important to bring a shooting stick and binoculars with a rangefinder.
Trophy Export and Import
Trophies will be available for hunters approximately 3-4 weeks after the event, properly weighed and assessed using the CIC method by the Hungarian Hunting Chamber. HEMING will arrange the transport of trophies to Slovakia.
Itinerary
The flat area south of Lake Balaton is rich in roe deer population with a good genetic base. Stretching wide fields lined with windbreaks and here and there some smaller complex of forest are home to quality roe deer, as there are no other animals living in the vicinity that could negatively affect the roe deer population. Traditional Hungarian roe deer hunting does not need to be specifically introduced to any Slovak hunter, but it is important to note that in this location traditional hunting with the so-called pirš is preferred. They go hunting early in the morning and hunt until the deer are on the move. It then continues in the afternoon until dark. The area has an area of over 5,500 Ha, so there is more than enough space to search for strong and high-quality individuals. In most cases, roe deer are hunted at a distance of 80-150 meters, but shooting at longer distances is possible. Suitable calibers are all commonly used calibers in our conditions from 243 WIN to 300 WIN MAG.
