Hunting Information
Red deer hunting in Hungary offers every passionate hunter an exceptional opportunity to extend the season. Unlike in other European regions, the rut begins significantly earlier here, with its peak already falling in the first and second week of September. This allows hunters to experience the roaring rut in Hungary and then continue hunting in the mountains or other parts of Europe.
We hunt exclusively in the finest state hunting grounds, world-renowned areas such as Gyulaj, Zala, and Gemenc. The specific location is always carefully selected according to the guest’s preferences and expectations regarding trophy quality and character. These regions are famous for outstanding genetics, and truly magnificent stags with impressive antler weight are harvested here every year.
Accommodation and Meals
Accommodation in a traditional hunting style in the heart of the hunting grounds provides an authentic experience for every hunting enthusiast. The complex is furnished in a rustic spirit, with comfortable rooms preserving the atmosphere of a classic hunting lodge. Guests can enjoy a cozy environment overlooking the surrounding nature, ensuring perfect relaxation after a day spent in the field. Meals are served as full board in a typical Hungarian style. Each dish is prepared from fresh seasonal ingredients and includes local specialties that immerse you in Hungarian gastronomy. From flavorful soups and traditional meat dishes to delicious desserts, culinary experiences are an integral part of your stay.
Weather
As you certainly know, the weather cannot be controlled, and conditions may vary from year to year, so changes must always be expected. During the rut in September, or at the beginning of October, daytime weather can still feel summery, while morning and evening outings may already require an extra layer of clothing. Before departure, we recommend checking the weather forecast for the hunting location and preparing accordingly in the spirit of “there is no bad weather, only poorly dressed hunters.”
Equipment
Clothing should be adapted to the season; however, shorts are not recommended even in summer, mainly due to insects and tall grass. Essential equipment includes insect repellent, headwear, long-sleeved clothing, rubber boots, and waterproof outerwear. It is also important to bring shooting sticks and binoculars with a rangefinder.
