Hunting Information:
The stay on the island and movement through the beautiful mountains, resembling the Amazon rainforest, is a powerful experience for every visitor and especially for hunters. Heming has exclusive permission to hunt in the largest hunting reserve in Mauritius, covering 4,200 hectares, where the strongest trophies are hunted, and where the official world record red stag was harvested. The hunting area is next to the beach resort where hunters are accommodated. During the rutting season, the entire area is filled with the loud calls of stags, and on the green meadows on the mountainsides, many battles between the strongest individuals can be seen. The rut and the stag calls are very similar to the rut we are familiar with in our conditions.
Hunting starts before noon, so hunters have time to rest well and enjoy long breakfasts on the beach. The hunt is very similar to hunting European stags during the rut and is done by stalking. The professional guide will bring the hunter within 50 to 150 meters of the roaring stag. Each hunter has the opportunity to choose which trophy they wish to harvest, as during the hunt they will see several stags. Since this is the highest quality hunting area on the island, the standard hunting targets are old and heavily antlered stags (gold medal). Hunters also have the opportunity to harvest exceptionally strong trophy males (high gold – over 34”). Shooters who prefer long-distance shooting will also be satisfied. The professional guide will take the hunter to places where it is possible to shoot at opposite slopes from distances of 300 to 600 meters. Local hunters on the island follow traditional hunting customs, which define the spirit of both the hunt and the celebrations after a successful hunting day.

If you decide to extend or shorten the trip in advance, we will be happy to tailor the trip to your preferences.
Weather:
During the hunting season from June to September, the weather on the island is very pleasant, with temperatures near the beach ranging from 26°C to 28°C, and the sea temperature around 25°C. The temperature in the mountains of the hunting area is slightly lower, around 22°C to 24°C, making the hunting experience very enjoyable.
Accommodation and Meals:
Each hunter has their own private room for maximum privacy. The selected hotel offers very authentic and luxurious accommodations, creating the best atmosphere of the island. It is the perfect option for hunters who choose to travel with a partner or family. Room service, daily laundry and ironing, and Wi-Fi are all included.
The price includes an all-inclusive program with a rich variety of meals throughout the day.
Equipment and Gear:
The gear and equipment for hunters should be similar to that used for summer hunting, such as hunting roe deer in our conditions – very simple. Since importing weapons to the island is not allowed, hunters will receive weapons (e.g., BLASER R8 30-06) on rental from professional guides, including quality optics, rangefinders, shooting sticks or bipods, and, of course, ammunition. It is recommended to bring binoculars, sturdy footwear, both short and long trousers (summer version), hunting shirts, etc. Important items to bring include insect repellent, a suitable summer hunting hat, flashlight, sunscreen, sunglasses, and lip balm.
Pricing for Individual Hunts (Outside of Packages):
- Medal-winning stag (bronze, silver – up to 27”) – €2,200
- Medal-winning stag (gold up to 34” / 85 cm) – €2,900
- Medal-winning stag (high gold over 34” / 85 cm) – €4,500
- Package of 6 (young females, wild boars): €2,100
Optional Excursions:
Mauritius is known for its beautiful mountain nature, pristine beaches, and fantastic oceans filled with exotic fish. For this reason, we have designed the trip to give hunters time for hunting, but also for other activities. After two days of hunting stags, hunters can spend the next three days at the beach villa with friends or family, enjoying local specialties in the restaurant, or they can continue hunting with a driven hunt, go fishing for giant tuna, swordfish, sharks, or take the family on a catamaran cruise around the island, which is INCLUDED in the price. In addition to these fantastic excursion experiences, we highly recommend visiting the 8-colored earth of Chamarel near the accommodation with a rum tasting, as well as visiting the magical Hindu temple of Grand Bassin deep in the mountains. There is plenty to see and experience.
Itinerary
The very stay on the island and movement in the beautiful mountains reminiscent of the Amazon rainforest is a powerful experience for every visitor and especially for hunters. Heming has exclusive permission to hunt in the largest hunting area in Mauritius with a size of 4200 Ha, where the strongest trophies are hunted and where the official world record red deer was caught. The hunting area is only 10 minutes away by car from beach chalets where hunters are accommodated. During the rutting period, the loud roaring of deer is carried throughout the territory, and many fights between the strongest individuals can be seen on the green meadows that lie on the slopes of the mountains. The rut and the deer rutting itself is very similar to the rut we are used to in our conditions. Hunting starts before lunch, so hunters have time to sleep well and enjoy a long breakfast on the beach. Hunting is very similar to hunting red deer in rut and is hunted by pirch. A professional guide brings the hunter to the guaranteed deer at a distance of 50 to 150 meters. Each hunter has the opportunity to choose which trophy he is interested in hunting, because during the hunt he will have the opportunity to see more deer. Since this is the best quality area on the island, old and strong trophy males (only gold medal) are hunted by default. However, hunters have the opportunity to catch also extremely strong trophy males (high gold - length over 34"). Shooters who prefer shooting at long distances will also get their money's worth. A professional guide will take the hunter to places where it is possible to shoot on the opposite slope at a distance of 300 to 600 meters. On the island, local hunters have customary hunting traditions, in the spirit of which the entire hunt is carried, as well as celebrations after a successful completion hunting day.
Dates
1.-10. August 2025 (8 / 7 )
Difficulty
For trips marked with this type of difficulty, moderate to moderate demands are placed on the hunter's physical condition. However, they are manageable for everyone who likes smaller challenges. We encounter this degree of difficulty mainly in mountain types of hunting, when hunting is mainly at the foot of slopes or in lower mountain locations.
