General hunting information
Hunting takes place on vast private lands characterized by open plains, bushy areas and, in places, more open woodland. This type of terrain allows for an active style of hunting with spot-and-stalk in the field and systematic wildlife management. Hunting areas are managed with a strong focus on trophy quality and a stable age structure of game. The program focuses on three species of big game: axis deer (Axis axis), blackbuck (Antilope cervicapra) and water buffalo (Bubalus bubalis). The goal is to allow harvesting all three species during a single trip. Hunting is conducted individually with a professional guide, typically on a one hunter to one guide basis. The daily schedule can be adjusted so that optional activities take place between hunting days or as a separate part of the trip before or after the hunt.
Axis deer (Axis axis)
The axis deer, native to the Indian subcontinent, has successfully acclimatized in Argentina. It forms stable populations and reaches excellent trophy quality. It is a medium-sized deer species with a characteristic reddish coat with white spots, which it retains throughout the year. The antlers are typically three-tined, with strong individuals achieving impressive beam length and well-developed brow tines.
The animals move in smaller groups and prefer the edge of open areas and cover, where they have sufficient food and escape opportunities. The rut occurs from November to March, and during this period stags are more active, frequently entering open areas and responding to calls. This is the most suitable time for hunting trophy animals.
Hunting is most commonly conducted by spot-and-stalk, with emphasis on proper selection of the animal based on age and antler quality. Shots are usually taken at medium distances in open or semi-open terrain.
Blackbuck (Antilope cervicapra)
The blackbuck, also known as the Indian antelope, originates from India and Nepal. Males are characterized by a dark upper body, contrasting white underparts and long spiraled horns. Trophy quality is determined primarily by horn length and symmetry, as well as the thickness of the bases.
In Argentine conditions, they are managed in fenced areas of hunting estates, although free-ranging populations also exist approximately one hour’s drive from the lodge. It is an extremely alert and fast species inhabiting open terrain, relying on keen eyesight and rapid escape.
Hunting is carried out by spot-and-stalk in open terrain, using natural cover and wind direction. It requires precise shooting, often at longer distances. Free-ranging individuals can typically be taken within a single hunting day.
Water buffalo (Bubalus bubalis)
The water buffalo represents a robust and physically very strong animal with a pronounced defensive instinct. In Argentina, it is managed in larger semi-wild populations on extensive properties. Its characteristic features are massive horns sweeping outwards and slightly backwards, with heavy bases.
The animals are usually found near water sources, wetlands and denser vegetation. It is a resilient species with high vitality, therefore strict adherence to the guide’s instructions and proper shot placement are essential.
Hunting is conducted by active tracking and stalking in the field, often under demanding conditions. Shots are typically taken at shorter distances. Due to the animal’s strength, the use of an appropriate caliber suitable for dangerous game is essential.

Obtížnost
For trips marked with this type of difficulty, moderate to moderate demands are placed on the hunter's physical condition. However, they are manageable for everyone who likes smaller challenges. We encounter this degree of difficulty mainly in mountain types of hunting, when hunting is mainly at the foot of slopes or in lower mountain locations.
